The Solarenergieförderverein Bayern e. V. (SeV) was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization in order to channel the income generated by the 1 MW PV system on the Messe München solar roof into the promotion of renewable energies. 85.8 % of the PV system belonged to SeV until 2017. With the electricity it generates from the plant, it makes an ongoing contribution to the market launch of renewable energies. One focus of its activities is the combination of solar technology and architecture – for example, the SeV awards the “Architecture Prize for Building-Integrated Solar Technology” and has produced numerous publications and a traveling exhibition on the subject. The background to all of SeV’s activities is the promotion of climate and environmental protection.
